about

Dirk Grützmann and Catherine Ledit (aka Temps Perdu?) took a four-year break between Terra Incognita and Earth Story. The rest was a good thing, because Earth Story is their strongest effort yet. Grützmann and Ledit share production and technical duties and their instrumental contributions overlap as well. The soundscapes are rich with ethnic rhythms and spacious atmospheres. The hooks and riffs penetrate the biorhythms of deep listeners as the tension builds. Frantic rhythms surround the expansive atmospheres. The tension breaks as the atmosphere fades to gentle pastoral ambience. Grützmann and Ledit are toying with their listeners and manipulating their emotions. It is a wonderful experience. This CD will appeal to fans of Steve Roach, Robert Scott Thompson, Vidna Obmana, Tuu, Amir Baghiri, and Ma Ja Le. It is essential for desert ambience collectors and most e-music fans. -- Jim Brenholts

about

Temps Perdu? Düsseldorf, Germany

Ceremonial, tribal, shamanistic-the aesthetic is there but the members of Temps Perdu?
are´n´t content with just adding themselves to the ethno-rank and file. Indescribable electronics merge with
strangely pulsing rhythms and other esoteric sound effects to yield sacred cybernetic mantras for these evolutionary, technological times.
